Confused by the digital switchover?

Don't be. This is the name of a national process to which the UK's old analogue signal will be switched off and will be replaced by a digital version. This process has begun and by 2012 be completed throughout the UK. The process is happening region by region. If your TV sets and video recorders are not changed to digital by this date you will not receive a signal and will get no picture! Is it better than analogue?
